I have only blown up two motors in my life, One was catastrophic at 5700 rpm, and threw parts out the side of the block, 355 chevy, and the other , I just ran until the motor locked up. That one did not have an oil pressure guage, so I did not know what was going on, but just before I grenaded the 355 I remember for a few days before that the oil pressure rose a few psi.
My 257,000 mile beater Grand Cherokee's 318 has suddenly picked up about 15-20 psi extra oil pressure. It still purs like a switch watch, and I notice no oil consumption, or funny noises, but last week , I was goofing around with the kid in the car, and revved the pee out of the poor thing. I am wondering if I will finally kill this thing off. I am going to drive it until it no longer moves under it's own power.
