Had in on an '08 BMW that required a key to open the door and you had to stick the key in the steering column beofre pushing the button. If you have to go to all that trouble you may as well just twist the key. In that car it was a ridiculous attempt to keep up with a fad.
My 2010 Murano - no need to ever take the key out of your pocket. If you're near the door you can open it, and it adjusts the seat and mirrors to your setting as you get in. Just push the button and the engine starts. I like it.
