Most still have a mechanical key for the door and a passive RFID reader in the car for the ignition.
So even with zero battery in the fob, you'll never be stranded.
The Corvette, as Jim pointed out, has a mechanical key for the rear hatch, then pull cables to 'pop' the doors, then slot for starting the car.
