I normally use chrome browser and open AOL in the browser to get my mail, don't normally use the mail app on the dock (imail). Pretty strange to have so much space taken up by mail. Back up has doubled and "other" has in creased by .5GB since earlier this morning.

go to the folder
(your user) -> Library -> Mail
Highlight the folder "Mail", don't open it, and do "Get Info" (Command-I)
How big is that folder?
