You are talking big tanks here.. and serious elevation requirements.
Unless people live on the side of a mountain and have ****loads of land.. i don't think that's a feasible way to store energy..
+ you will loose a considerable percentage of the energy pumping up ,and converting back to electricity again
That is on top of the percentage lost creating the energy to do the pumping.
