Thanks, Brorag, but I think I'm wrong and agree with the guy who disagreed with me. The part I'm thinking of does have a long receiver shaft that keeps it off the tranny (at least on the 915). The part shown is pretty flush.
It definitely seems to be a pivot shaft though. Push on one end... pull on the other.
I have a bowl on my work bench for stuff like that. Throw extra parts in there and go fishing when you're wanting. NEVER throw a part away. As soon as you do, you'll need it within a week.
