Home defense spoon
I'm currently looking to purchase a "home defense" spoon, and have a couple of questions and concerns that I'm hoping to get some feedback on.
Now I know when a subject like this is brought up it comes along with a certain amount of internet toughness, so if we could skip that it would be great. Should a situation arise I don't think I will be shooting trigger fingers off and monkey rolling to safety. I'm more concerned that my wife feels safe when I'm not home.
What would you consider the best option to be? - I already have two dogs. Though they are Standard Poodles, I have no doubt they would lay down their lives to protect my wife and our daughter, people are not necessarily intimidated by them.
I'm looking at a variety of pump spoons, in 12 and 20 gauge. Would you consider a 20 gauge enough? Would a 20, or a 12 for that matter, exit the house should a miss occur?
For those with the spoon option already covered, what is the plan should you need to use one in your house? Do you have hearing protection nearby?
