I lived there and Arizona is an open carry state.I have a CCP there as well.Do not stop on I-10 at night at any rest areas.I-10 is usually fine during the day,but if you are taking I-8 to San Diego south of Phoenix keep your eyes open.There are drug mules day and night and the scouts are armed and there are armed spotters on both sides of the road.Just another normal day in Janet Napolitano`s home! Don`t worry though,she says it`s safer than ever.I personally would have a weapon in my car and clip handy.won`t do you much good in the trunk.Az.law says if you are stopped and asked about firearms,advise him you have a weapon.They are used to hearing that.
