Chris and Ed are great guys (I haven't met Chris in person yet, but have dealt with him on the BBSes a lot; I have met Ed several times in person) and should steer you right. They may also be able to help you with test driving a 914 to see how it matches your memory. I know that Ed had a very original 76 914 a number of years back, even down to the 165-width tires, and it was a real reminder of how the 914 originally drove.

I have been thinking and should also clarify. I want a rust free original tub or a restored car, but modifications are ok. No body kits, or non- oem paint colors. Suspension mods, motor transplants to a 6, steel flares, wider rims are all very cool with me.
I guess when I say original, I mean no aftermarket bolt on wings, red interiors, chevy 350 powered, or anything in that general vicinity.
