The 07 and newer have the peugot motor and there have been isssues with failing chain tensiors causing rattling noises when cold and sometimes engine failure.
Also the 07-08 MCS Turbo have reports of fires since a heat shield was not installed until 09
NHTSA investigating 2007 and 2008 Mini Cooper S for fire risks
Other than that, they are fun to drive
