I've been pretty quiet on the board lately as I've been focusing on an idea that I've had for a while. Essentially it's a combination of a social network and parts wiki/marketplace. I got tired of researching the opinions of people regarding parts and receiving the typical "did you search the archive?" response. Forums don't do a good job of capturing information like this, and as some parts can fit multiple vehicles, which forum is the best one to start such a discussion.
As a result of this issue I have created
OctaneNation. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on it. My profile can be see at
OctaneNation.com/matt
On example of its usefulness is the ability for users to specify the settings they have for parts, e.g. carb jetting, shock settings, etc.
The factory IDA jetting can be seen here:
Customs Settings » Weber Redline » IDA | OctaneNation
All Weber carbs here:
Search » Parts » OctaneNation
If a part isn't in the database then it can be added by a user, similar to a wiki. That page will now be accessible for all users to visit, and define if they have/want/had that part on one of their vehicles.
Another main feature is events, with the ability to say that you attended a specific event and upload photos. I went to the LM (Le Mans) Story event in 2007 and uploaded the pics I took:

It's a work in progress so please let me know if you find any issues and any suggestions are definitely welcome!
Cheers.
