I agree with you 100% George. And I've spent time or lived in other great cities+ San Francisco. SF is the greatest place to visit in America for a weekend, IMO, but I don't choose to live there. Los Angeles is just incredibly diverse, beautiful and rich in culture but it's also extremely layered and not easily apparent to visitors usually. People who live in surrounding environs like Zeke often don't really know the city all that well other than in broad strokes based on geography and limited experience working or hanging out here over the years.
I've lived here 30 years as of 2012 and I'm constantly reminded of the limits of my knowledge of what goes on here. But it's rarely dull.
