I love my GP35. Truly a great design (once you yank the magazine disconnect out of there).
My 100th Anniv. Colt Defender (.45) ran great out of the box but I've done a little tweaking on it since. Key was getting rid of the "ducktail" grip safety and putting in a Wilson beavertail. The ducktail is great for me on a full-size 1911 but is terrible for deep concealment. I'll also add that Colt did a less-than-stellar job of fitting the original GS to the frame. Yours looks like the standard beavertail. I'm not sure how Colt decides whether to use the beaver or ducktail?
I also replaced the plastic MSH with an alloy one, put in a flat trigger, added a heavily bobbed ambi thumb safety, and put on a pair of slim grips from VZ.
It's my first lightweight 1911 and now has me thinking of getting a lightweight Commander and bobtailing it. My typical carry is a Dan Wesson bobtail but it seems to get heavier every year...

Thanks for all the great suggestions.
The Defender is what it is but I need the P35 to shoot a lot better than it did out of the box.
They better be "great pistolas" because I gave up a great Norwegian 1914 (Nazi 1911) for them.
