hi ,
could be ignition and or timing , check vacuum line is connected to advance on dizzy. It could also be the cat...any noise coming from the tailpipe on acceleration...my cat was gone and the car would idle like yours but on acceleration no power, cat caused lots of back-pressure and loss of power.
