That is not really true. I have been in/under many B52s and they are pretty old. They did a wing improvement, I think in the early 70's but that is about it. Avionics/radar are always being upgraded but that is like putting a new radio in your car.
With the latest upgrades they predict the B52 will have been in service 100 years. The last one was made in 1962.
