I'm toying with the idea of gutting my existing radar detector and installing the sensor pod in the front grille (at the top of the hood, below the scuttle), leaving the guts of it (with LEDs etc) in the ashtray.
I am also thinking about putting a small piece of clear perspex in front of it to protect the pod/sensors from the weather. Has anyone tried this?
My thoughts are that it might be too low to be effective at range.
