I was needing front tires for by daily driver Ford F-150. My toe-in was out of spec so the outer edge of the tires were wearing premature. I priced them on-line (Tire Rack, etc) and a few local places. Then I thought why not try craigslist as people upgrade their trucks with larger tires all the time, maybe I would get lucky and get the left overs.
Well as luck would have it, I scored big time. Four tires with 5,000 miles (who knows for sure) still mounted on the same factory wheels as my truck for $300.00. I emailed him and offered $275 and he accepted. These tires new are $159.00 on-line plus shipping and mount/balance/disposal/tax. I figure a total for four would be $800+ or so. If I sell off my two good tires and scrap my existing wheels I could get back about $75. I thinking I could net out paying $200 for a $800 tire package.
