The audience at most BJ auctions usually appreciates domestic cars. it's a pretty select gathering of buyers (American iron, tractors and kit cars).
As I recall, the referenced build in the thread was done very well. I also think folks on this forum might be divided between e.g. this car and the Singer. I recall some would sacrifice their left nut for a Singer - a beautiful car for sure, but at a lofty price only a few would consider.
