I studied eye sight for a project a 100 years ago. The eyes can't see shape, only color. All shapes are seen by the shadows present. Light something perfectly from all angles and it will appear 2 dimensional.
This has nothing to do with parallax.

Its not black and white. Definitely basic afterimage stuff. Plenty of examples. Seriously the dots don't mean anything from what I can tell....
