I tried something just like this at an amusement industry tradeshow a couple of years ago. The simulation had you driving a Ferrari and it was way off the mark. Every time you pressed the brakes the sim would dive down like you were stomping on the brakes and it really threw you forward. I didn't enjoy it at all. Seemed to have way too much motion and felt unrealistic.
This one on the other hand was pretty awesome.

It had just the right amount of motion to allow the feel of actual driving. It even kicked sideways a bit when you broke her loose and the wheel reacted just like what you would expect.
Here is my lame attempt at circling the Nurbergring. The video is fuzzy for about 5 seconds but clears up.
