I bought a nice original driver condition 88 Targa with 155k on it four years ago and sold it recently for $14k with 170k. It was due for a major tune-up, I told the purchaser, still had the original clutch. I might have been able to get more for it but I don't think I had that much in it with all that I did to it and all the insurance I had paid on it during my ownership.
Note of caution on 996tt. They seem to be having problems with coolant leak issues, serious issues. Anyone interested in one needs to Google that. I was looking for one, but after careful consideration, I decided 996tt is too risky of a purchase. At least the 930 block they use don't have the other problems of the NA versions.
