Rick,
I lived in the south of France for nearly 4 years (Aix-en-Provence) 2005 to 2009, and I loved it, although the French sometimes can be a bunch of 'holes, they are lucky to live in such a beautiful place most of them don't even appreciate what they have! But given that France has been the world's battlefield through two world wars, I can understand why they are loathe to accept people or change the way they do things. They do take things just a little too seriously sometimes, and need to lighten up a bit, their way is the only way, apparently. The rest of the world is inhabited by idiots with no taste and no culture (their point of view).
I would go back in a minute and spend years there again if I could. Being a happy go lucky Ozzie I got on with everyone, and tried hard to learn the language.
Anyway, very quiet weekend, except for gardening, and washing one of the cars. Cleaned out one of the garden fishponds, sludge builds up on the bottom, they are very large ponds with coi fish, and I spent a couple of hours head down grasping sludge and plant roots from under the water, my shoulders are killing me this morning. Then floating around on the pool with a beer and potato chips!
