Mine were factory, and didn't look too bad, but the factory bushings with oval holes are designed to have some play in them from new. Swapping to Ed's made a significant difference, but I can't say for certain how worn my stock ones were.

If you remove the coupler access cover and move the shift lever fore and aft while watching the coupler, note the play at the coupler pivot. Mine had very visible play with the original bushings, probably 1/4" or so. It is not visible at all with Ed's bushings.

In short, new factory bushings should be an improvement over badly worn bushings, but Ed's will be an improvement over even decent originals - IMO, of course.
