Not unusual for a shop to take longer to diagnose a problem....try to be patient....there's not much you can really do to some degree.
My first Porsche was an '81 SC. The lower exhaust studs pulled out after the first year so I pulled the engine myself and disassembled as much as I could then drove it over to a reputable mechanic to have it rebuilt with new studs, etc. The promised finish date passed by for several weeks until I pinned him down to finish it come what may and I drove over at 1AM to pick it up - I was frustrated so it all turned out OK but I had to press him at the end. It sucked.  |
Do they charge for diagnostic time or only the time they actually perform the work?
