Maybe my memory is failing me. We had the original 1.6 (pop up lights) and then the 1.8, the next body shape. My recollection is that is was deeper, and if you put in a light weigh shell type seat, you'd probably gain some head room. We have the current 2.0 Mx5 now and its definately deeper. Dont like that car.
