This ^^^. Most nervous public speakers seem to feel like they have to fill the speaking time densely with words. Actually, the opposite is true. Audiences receive information better if you give it to them SLOWLY. They especially appreciate pauses. It lets the information sink in better. During the pause, your most recent words will reverberate in their minds. Don't vocalize the pauses. Don't say "ummmmm.....uhhhhhh....." Just remain silent until you know what you want to say next. Then say it. Slowly.
