It's more grown up...you look foolish putting a stripe on a GTI ;-)
Seriously, you can fit 4 people "AND" luggage in a Golf, nor "OR" ;-) Much bigger car. It's got more torque, way more torque with some software... Interior is better finished... The mini is more of a gokart, the GTi more comfortable...
I miss my GTI more than my mini... not to say I did not enjoy both, I did... Actually I miss neither right now, I prefer the Cayman S ;-)
