Combination of three things- Grandpa was really into nice cars and working on things in general- that was the blood part
I had an uncle who bought me a subscription to "Road and Track" Mag when I was 6 years old cuz I liked cars.
Around driving age I moved to Renton, WA which was a big middle class all American kind of town back then, and all my buddies parents were consequently big time gear heads.
The rest is history. Still at it.
