In terms of tires to match 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear you would need to get tire sizes 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. A 245/40/17 could also work. I think that with the SC or Carrera flares this should be no issue (I know several people running those on 17 in wheels). However, it depends on the actual tire and in some cases you may want to roll the fender or use a bit more camber, especially when lowered a lot.
To run anything larger than a 225 in the rear you definitely want to go with the 9 in in the rear and I think staying with the 7 in front will work.
But until somebody has the wheels and installs actual tires, we won't know for sure.
