Tempermental 928

I've had my 928 for about 3 months, and it's run with out a hickup until 2 weeks ago. First it's a 1983 S. I drove the car for about 30 minutes, then stopped for about 10 minutes, and the car wouldn't start. Turned over fine, but no light. Came back the next day, and it fired right up no problem. Took it to my mechanic, and he changed plugs, ignition wires, rotor, distridutor cap, and the fuel filter. Drove home no problem. Next day, won't start. Wait a few hours and is starts fine. So assuming that this is all start related, I should have known, I went for a drive, and.... in an inconvient spot the dash lights up, and I coast to a stop. Few hours later it fires right up. So I know that was long winded but, any ideas? I am thinking fuel pump, but is there anything else I can look at.
