Tweeters and mid-range are directional. Pointing them toward the floor isn't ideal.
Subs are non-directional. Can be in the trunk, underdash, rear floor or under the seat(s).
Ideally, tweeters should be mounted high, but in close proximity to the mid-range speaker. The best compromise might be door-mounting both.
Here's my setup. Pretty typical, with flat speaker covers to clear the window winder; tweeters in the Perlon kick panel (crossovers behind). Drilled wire path in door hinge panel and routed through color-matched HD shrink wrap for protection into the interior under the door bulb.
Overlook the obvious product placement.
