I Agree. Having some money means:
Not getting stressed if the car breaks down, I have a spare car (the 911) and I can afford to fix the broken one if I choose.
An illness or accident is not going to send me into bankruptcy (as it does many people). I have good insurance and can the afford co-pays and deductibles.
If the house A/C goes out, I call someone out to fix it.
Essentially I am not living on the edge as so many people today are, i.e. one missed pay check away from being broke. That doesn't guarantee happiness by any stretch but it certainly helps eliminate stress. I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, my wife and I worked long and hard to obtain some financial security and I feel fortunate to be in this position when so many people are in dire straights financially.
