The "normal" R/C planes weren't that expensive. After about 5 years of not flying, I sold all my R/C planes, radios, and motors for $1000 to the local hobby shop. It was enough stuff to fill a minvan including the passenger seat.
When you go to the IMAA sized planes the bigger kits, servos, and motors are a LOT more expensive.
