I planted it a couple of years ago, after my mom had mentioned that it could be made into a tea and had medicinal properties. She read an article that mentioned how it could possible help in the prevention and possibly the reversal of cancer. She has been living with lung cancer for the past 7 years. It seems that in laboratory studies, it caused cancer cells to self destruct. It seems that our cells are programed to self destruct if something goes wrong. Most of the time it works, but I guess cancer prevents that from happening and the cells keep mutating. In the lab, the cancer cells would start to die off, but normal cells would not. I doubt it's a cure-all, but maybe it can help.
I am not really into tea, but I planted some lemongrass for my mom a couple of years ago. She made some tea a couple of times, but then lost interest. She has been off her chemo pills for a while now - doctor took her off, so I revisited the lemongrass/cancer thing. No real changes, but nothing new that says it's bad for you. I decided to try and make the tea a couple nights ago and figured if I drank it, maybe my mom would too and she did.

As I was reading up on it, I found out that it may help with insomnia, which I suffer from. So I figured I'd give it a try.
As for taste, it's probably like taking lemon and squeezing it in your water. It has a lemon flavor, but not terribly strong. The honey is mostly for me. Makes drinking a hot water more palatable.
