People are always gonna have their opinions. Never gonna change. Nor should it. There is an opinion out there that 911 owners are A$$$$$$s. It's also possible for opinions/perceptions to be just flat out incorrect. For someone to say "I don't care what people think of the car I drive" then go on to say "I would never be caught dead in one". Ummm, I'm not even gonna address that. The comment itself speaks loudly enough. For some reason I think some of the perceived snobbery has its origins in the fact that (clearing throat here) "purists" prefer coupes. Convertibles are just trash. In general. One pretty cool fact is that the Boxster is designed as an open air vehicle. As many of the originial racing Porsches were.
I own an 01 Boxster S. I wanted a Porsche. I wanted a roadster (2 seater) and I wanted it opened aired. Now I can't afford to a 550 spyder, or a 718 RS 60. Or a Carrera GT for that matter. No, the only vehicle that Porsche makes nowadays that fits that criteria is the Boxster. I'm not takin shots here. Just offering my opinion, as others most plainly have. I'm curious if the Corvette is considered a chick car ? I don't live in Texas. I think I've seen 1, as in A as in singlular woman ever driving a Boxster. But what does that really matter ? I've seen HUNDREDS of women driving corvettes over the years. Pretty bad-assed cars (some of them) but I'm not into them. Wouldn't own one. Just don't have an interest. My bias is American cars
