for the money, the boxster isn't a bad choice for $8-$9K as long as it is well serviced with RMS and IMS upgrades. i'd never pay more for one considering the market is saturated and they become devalued every day.
i bought one in 2009 and drove it home from santa cruz. nice clean car, silver w/black 6 speed w/hardtop. had a weird issue with a whistling sound from the front truck lip on the freeway...remedied that by adjusting the hood latch lower.

i kept it for a year and had fun with it. fairly straightforward car. wish the seat would adjust back a bit more. i found my legs needed a bit more room and i'm 6'1". anyone taller would feel uncomfortable.
