Blind Man's Bluff is an amazing book - I literally couldn't put it down. If you have the slightest interest in Naval Military History or American Ingenuity, this will amaze you. But then, I'm into all that stuff and found John Craven's book incredible too. If you like that stuff, then try also
Big Red, which is an account of a three month deterrance patrol on board a ballistic missile submarine.
For fiction, try Patrick Robinson for a decent potboiler.
