* switch to FireFox, which also has a "Tell websites I do not want to be tracked" which probably doesn't do a whole lot, but you can turn it on just in case.
* The worst browser you can run is IE, followed by Chrome. Why? Because Chrome is designed to spoon feed ads to you, and spoon feed your info back to google. It's like using a burglar alarm designed and installed by burglars.
* Get
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-uS/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ and turn off the "allow some non-intrusive advertising" in the filter preferences. Then install the relevant "privacy" filter list for whichever filter subscription you choose. There's also Facebook privacy lists available.
