had CFL's go out within minutes and non have ever lasted more then 3 months.

Thats an interesting move! There are LED bulbs out now that you wouldn't be able to distinguish from an incandescent ($200 a bulb). I have some reflectors in the kitchen that are the same...should be on the market for less than 10% of that in a couple years.
