I too hate CFL's. The incandescent bulbs are really just giant heaters and super inefficient. You can get a halogen bulb that puts out more light for the same wattage than a normal incandescent. Halogen isn't going anywhere as far as I know. We aren't stuck with CFL's - LED/Halogen are equal to or greater than the normal incandescent.
