I would rather have a nice late Carrera too, but generally the people on this forum are more "enthusiast" versus "collector."
There are many more Carrera's running around in similar condition (and not Mexico blue) than there are Mexico blue sporto '74 targa's - so I'd say this checks quite a few more boxes for a collector that a better performing/driving late Carrera will....
