I signed on with them when they were about two months old. I've done over 500 transactions with them before they "got" me. If you have a checking account on file, and say zero in your PayPal account, they will do an unauthorized ACH transfer if they "need" your money, without warning, without approval... Their expansive users agreement gives them the right...

So in this example, if you have nothing in your PayPal account and only fund it directly with a checking account, they will take money out of your checking account if you sold something to someone and months later they claim they never recieved it... Their requirements for "proving" that you sent something is ridiculous. A tracking number isn't enough. There is absolutely no way to satisfy their requirements using the US Post Office. With UPS, a signature is required...

Like I said, the Better Business Bureau retracted their endorsement of PayPal recently due to the over 100,000 UNANSWERED complaints filed with them. Several states have forbidden PayPal to operate in their state. New York has fined them a ton due to their involvement with internet casinos.

It's definitely best to do your own research. Read the user agreement on their website. Check out some of the sites that have sprung up about them lately...

I wish it weren't true, but I've read quite a bit about it all and am convinced that you're taking a risk if you use them. Eventually, the odds will catch up and you'll get burned. Just be careful...
