Congrats to you. Sucks for them. If you all knew that you were up for it, it's easy to see why NOT getting it would suck a bunch. It's a shame that they couldn't keep their mouths shut. At least they knew it was better to leave than stick around in a foul mood.

It's easy to understand why they'd be disappointed (which often translates to angry). Unless you were all making a million a year, that was a HUGE promotion/raise/increase in compensation.
