What about the poor driver of the open top car that was flung out of it when he hit the pit lane wall late on Saturday.
His car was a total wreck and he surely must be in a bad way after being tossed from his car like a rag doll (words of fellow club member who saw most of the event). 4 of us were right at the point of impact but 3 of us had our backs to the track and the noise got us to spin around by which time flames were seen and the driver was lying flat on his back on the track and did not move until medicos arrived which seemed like an eternity but was probably more like 90 seconds. The guy was bloody lucky not to be run over by fellow competitors as well.
