I was the shovel operator for LOTS of both horse AND sheep leavings for our garden. Every spring before the planting started we had to till in the fertilizer and then had the area plowed and disced with a tractor to turn over the soil deeper than a tiller could reach. Then days of rotor tilling that into dust. We rotated leaving 1/7 of the garden area unplanted. It was the compost area for that year and got all that good stuff tilled in with the Troy Bilt tiller.
I really don't have much of a desire to till up and plant a garden, maybe after I retire.
