Don't fall for paying for the application of "glazing" compounds. They will temporarily hide swirl scratches by filling the scratches. However, at the next car wash, they will appear again.
Several books on the subject to understand the correct as well as quick and dirty procedures.

I agree. I have been using Meguiars (and on occasion, Zaino) for years and used correctly, they can make an amazing difference. I just bought the
Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction Kit and if you know someone with a DA, I would suggest trying it. VERY easy to use, no dust, and wipes off as easy as anything I've tried. Made my red paint look awesome!
