Well, hit my first roadblock. I got the rear wheels off no problem. There there is a small metal gear that is connected to the transaxle which meshes with a gear in the wheel itself. This gear is held on with a screw with a star type slot. I happen to have a star screwdriver head which fits but the sum***** won't move!! It seems obvious to me that this gear has to come off for the transaxle to come out but I don't want to damage the thing by putting too much force on the screw if there is some other way to get the thing out of there. Of course there is nothing on Google about how to take this transmission out. The owners manual just says "take it to your local Troy Bilt service area". What do you think? Crank on the sucker or what?
