You didn't get the point. The point was not that LEDs are a fad and not an improvement. The point was about the way they are presented.
What I believe he was trying to say was instead of being able to see each individual led
I believe the OP is trying to say that a diffuser lens should be put over the top of the LEDs to make them look like one big bulb.
What really seems to be the latest fad is "eye liner" on cars. Audi seems to have started it with the R8, and now everyone is doing it. Lexus seems to have adopted it and I've seen it retrofit on to civics and crap like that.
