I just completed my 2070 mile journey in my '83.
It's nice to know these cars can handle running for 15 hours straight.
I only had one small problem, after about 7 hours of cruising at 85... well, maybe a little faster... the car started to miss. It did it on my trip there, and on the way back. It would only miss if I held the throttle steady. If I accelerated or decelerated it didn't miss at all. If I let the car sit for a few hours, it was fine again for a while.
Any ideas? I'm thinking it could be two things... I may be running a bit lean, or it could be bad spark plug wires and cap. Maybe the wires were heating up enough after 7 hours that they built up too much resistance. Coil maybe?
Anyway, it was a fun trip. It was a very comfortable car to drive, I got a lot of looks and great gas mileage (about 28 Mpg).
Oh yeah, it also fired right up after sitting in sub-zero weather for several hours... amazing.
