If its the tensioners, then it could just be that there is an oil blockage stopping the tensioner filling up and taking up the slack in the chains.
Also, i know this might sound a bit daft, but are you sure its coming from the chain housings, and not the fan area, i ask this as there is a small chance that its the fan/altenator bearings that have failed and the fan is rubbing on the housing.
Its difficult to hear the sound properly.
Either way i wouldnt run it anymore untill you get it checked out, if you dont have any confidence in the mechanic who " repaired" it the first time, then i would ask for sugestions on here if there is anyone in your area that can be recomended.
